El Ladrillo is Spanish for "The Brick", and the excellent reputation of
this fine restaurant is as solid as its name suggest. In 1975
Tata and Tato, the restaurants owners, opened for
business with four tables in their hometown, Dorado. Today,
El Ladrillo, with its brick walls, is frequented by guest
from nearby Hyatt resorts, as well as locals who drive in
from places like San Juan to enjoy the cuisine that has been
perfected over the years.
El Ladrillo is well noted as a
steakhouse. Tato and Tata, along with their head Chef (who
has been with them for over 20 years), specializes in fresh
U.S. prime Angus beef and lamb. Sirloin, T-bones and filet
mignons are grilled and served exactly to order.
When it comes to seafood el Ladrillo is also noted for exellence. Their seafood and fish,
caught fresh from island waters, is offered in a greater
variety of dishes, from Puerto Rican style shrimp and lobster
stews to Zarzuela, a delicious combination from the sea in a
sauce laced with herbs.
